ABOVE: Last Orders at The Ship Inn, Piel Island. This painting shows the row ashore in strong currents to my favourite watering hole, The Ship Inn at Piel Island, which is located off the south end of Walney Island, near Barrow in Furness, Cumbria. Waking early there on a summer morning on a boat gently rockng on her mooring and looking out at the beauty of the estuary framed against the background of Black Combe and the mountains of the Lake District is my definition of heaven!
Rod Scarr, the landlord of 20 years retired in spring 2006 and to commemorate this, the first 20 prints will all be reserved for boaty people who wish to have a small pencil remarque or sketch of their boat at the base of the print. Hand made cards are available for £2.50 each
