Sea Art
Naomi Moxon is a marine artist and dedicated sailor whose work has been featured in the national press and in exhibitions around North Wales. Her work is now very much sought after.
Naomi was inspired to paint by 2 people- her art teacher from school days, Gordon Grundy, and her grandmother, Lillian, who at the age of 80 years young took up painting and was good at it!
Naomi says I love the sea and boats. Im never happier then when Im on a boat in a lovely anchorage and armed with my pochade box. My main choice of subjects to paint is inspired by the magnificent North Wales coastline where I live and by my other passion in life, sailing. The sea is awesome and constantly changing and I hope I capture a little of that in my art. I adore painting boats, especially traditional craft. Their lines are so elegant and refined over the years to cope with the rigours of being at sea. If you like my style but would like a painting of a place or boat you like, I will try to help. I mainly work in oils.
"I occasionally veer off on a tangent and paint something completely different- I love the challenge of portrait painting and occasionally a bowl of bright flowers is great fun to paint and I have the opportunity to crack open some different paint colours too"
